Chisinau, 14 March /MOLDPRES/- During the last 24 hours, the employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been asked to intervene in 53 cases of extinguishing outbreaks of dry grass.
Liliana Puscasu, the press officer of the inspectorate, said that most burning outbreaks were recorded in the central part of the country.
"The firemen have extinguished 20 hectares of vegetation in Anenii Noi district, 10 hectares in Hincesti and seven hectares in Straseni. At the same time, vegetation fires were registered in Causeni, Teleneşti, Ungheni and Orhei. Also, the rescuers were asked to clear the outbreaks in Bubuieci, Bacioi and Sangera,” Puscasu said.
In the southern area, the fires have affected more than 30 hectares of land in Leova district and about seven hectares in Cahul district.
According to IGSU data, in the last 24 hours, over 130 ha of land have been fired across the country. In this context, firemen urge citizens to comply with fire regulations, and not to light dry grass and rubbish to avoid spreading to forestry and housing. Under wind and low humidity conditions, outbreaks can easily spread.
