Monuments in memory of participants in liquidation of consequences of Chernobyl disaster to be built in Comrat, Donduseni

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/- Monuments in memory of the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster will be built in Comrat and Donduseni. Government decisions on the matter entered into force today, with publication in the Official Journal of Moldova.

Expenses related to designing, executing, building monuments and arranging land will be covered by donations and sponsorships.

The proposal to build the monuments was presented by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, based on the decisions of Comrat municipal council and Donduseni council.

Monuments will be built according to a project approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.

At present, over 130 participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster and about 20 widows live in Gagauzia and Donduseni district.
