Electric energy supplier selected for new season in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ - The enterprises for foreign capital RED Union Fenosa (Electricity Distribution Networks Union Fenosa) and Gaz Natural Fenosa Energy Supply have informed that they selected the provider of electric energy for the period 1 April 2019-31 March 2020. According to a press release, spread by the energy supplier today, the company Energocom will provide electricity at an average price of 54.2 dollars for one Megawatt/hour (MWh), which is by two per cent more against the present electric energy purchasing price.
The External Relations and Communications Department of the enterprises said that the volume of energy needed for the distribution enterprise would be provided by Energocom at a level of 85 per cent from the Kuchurgan power station at a price of 54.2 dollars/MWh and 15 per cent - from DTEK Pavlogradugoli of Ukraine at a price of 64.4 dollars for one MWh.
The procedure of selecting the offer, with the participation of the group of observers, will end with the signing of a new contract on electric energy supply and its presentation to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) for approval.
The old contracts expire on 31 March 2019. Presently, Union Fenosa imports, through the Energocom stock company, electric energy from the Kuchurgan power plant and DTEK Pavlogradugoli of Ukraine. Under the contracts signed on 14 March 2018, 70 per cent of the electricity necessary for Moldova is bought from the Kuchurgan power station and 30 per cent – from DTEK Pavlogradugoli of Ukraine.
