Over 7,000 women make mammograms within A Doctor for You campaign

Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/- Over the past five months, 7,256 women have made investigations in the mobile mammography involved in the campaign - A Doctor for You. About 625 diseases, including 14 cases of cancer, were found.

According to data by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection / MSMPS /, during 2019, screening for women in high-risk breast cancer groups will continue under the program.

This week, the mobile teams within the campaign will provide free consultations to the population of Hancesti, Nisporeni, Criuleni villages. The residents of Ialoveni and the beneficiaries of the Temporary Placement Center for People with Disabilities from Balti will be able to perform pulmonary radiography screening, and the women from rural areas from Rezina, Anenii Noi and Cahul districts will benefit from free breast screening services provided by the team of doctors.

At the same time, MSMPS announced that 3,151 people were consulted during February by 35 oncologists who joined the multidisciplinary teams within the campaign. Following investigations, 699 people were identified and included in the cancer risk group, and 270 people received additional investigative recommendations at the Diagnostic Advisory Center of the Institute of Oncology. Also, 326 patients, who are registered with oncology, have got additional specialized assistance.
