Four suspected cases of measles recorded in northern Moldova

Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/- Four other suspected cases of measles were recorded in Ocniţa and Edinet districts in two adults and two children.
The head of the Information and Communication Service of the National Agency for Public Health (ANSP), Olesea Croitor, said three sick people, including two children, are from Ocniţa district.
According to ANSP data, the number of cases of measles registered in Moldova reached 346, out of which 341 in 2018. A significant increase in the number of illnesses was recorded in August 2018, with 239 confirmed cases.
Epidemiologists remind people that measles is a highly contagious disease and is spreading rapidly. The first sign of the infection is the high fever, which lasts for 1-7 days. Generalized eruptions occur 3-4 days after the onset of fever. Pneumonia is the most common cause of death in measles.
