Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/ – Since 01 April 2019, the pensioners from the capital, who travel free of charge with public transport, will receive annual new travel subscriptions.
The documents are put into circulation starting 01 March 2019, but for one month, until 01 April, the beneficiaries can also travel on the basis of the old annual subscriptions, while they are informed about the necessity of drafting the new type of act.
The new type of subscription will be valid until 31 March 2020. The costs related to making new yearly subscriptions will be borne by the Electricity Company (RTE) and the Urban bus park (PUA).
The Chisinau City Hall announced that the replacement of annual subscriptions for retirees was necessary due to modification of the amount of the pension/monthly income of beneficiaries, up to MDL 3,000, as well as to increase the security measures for such documents.
A decision to launch the new annual subscription model for the public transport journey in the capital city has recently been approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), on the proposal of RTE.
The pensioners in the capital, whose monthly income does not exceed MDL 3,000, benefit from free travel on public transport. They have an opportunity to choose between the monthly sum of MDL 70 and the annual subscription.
