Moldova tests 5G technology in premiere

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/ – It was presented and tested the 5G technology in premiere by a mobile operator in Moldova.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure's information and media communication service, the presented 5G strategy is based on three components: improved high – speed mobile broadband, high – speed fixed network access and new applications to support digital business transformation. By 2020, there will be prepared tests targeting these three areas of 5G usage for both consumers and business customers.  

"Every time we experience special emotions when the Moldovan operators switch from one generation of technologies to another. I know the emotions of my colleagues, but also the emotions of the customers who are waiting for new technologies and solutions. There are enormous investments in addition to work and effort, behind these achievements. Moldova has demonstrated that it is worth investing here, and our customers are very receptive to everything new technologies mean," said Economy and Infrastructure Minister, Chiril Gaburici at the presentation of the new technology.

5G is the fifth – generation mobile phone, the successor of 4G technology. The data transfer speed will increase and response time will be improved by implementation of the new technology.
