Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon has urged the lawmakers to sit down at the table of negotiations. The head of state noted that he would accept any majority, any cabinet due to be created through negotiations between the political parties which got citizens’ votes.

At the end of the speech unveiled to the parliament, President Igor Dodon made a request to the newly elected MPs. “Think that the people are tired of political conflicts and they want a decent life and a visible progress of the country. In this context, I suggest that you sit down at the table of dialogue, in order to show people that you can discuss. In my capacity of president of Moldova, I intend to soon invite each formation separately to a dialogue at the Presidency, in order to temperately and responsibly discuss what we do next,” Dodon said.

The head of state specified that he would accept any majority, any government due to be set up following negotiations; yet, Dodon stressed that he would not approve a majority made up of turncoats, artificially and illegitimately. “Citizens would better judge us once again at snap elections than a governance of turncoats,” Dodon added.

The parliament of the tenth legislative period has been legally founded. Under the legislation in force, the parliament speaker, deputy speakers are elected and the standing bureau is set up following the parliament’s legal foundation. The parliamentary factions, which work according to their own regulation, will be created in ten days after the first parliament meeting.
