Central Moldova district council nominates new district head

Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Criuleni district council today accepted the resignation of chairman Veaceslav Burlac and nominated a former deputy interior minister, district’s honorary citizen Ion Turcan to this office. Twenty six councilors out of 29 ones present at the meeting voted for Turcan’s candidacy.
At the meeting, Veaceslav Burlac said “his resignation has no connection with his work and the one of the Democratic Party at the parliamentary polls,” according to the website www.estcurier.md. Burlac will hold the position of deputy head in the Criuleni district’s administration.
Ion Turcan is a police major general and worked in Interior Ministry’s structures in various periods. He was awarded the Stefan cel Mare and Military Merit orders.
