Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/- The National Social Insurance House (CNAS) has warned that pension beneficiaries under the provisions of the bilateral social security agreements have the obligation to present annually a Life Certificate in order to receive the pension.
The document must be submitted by 31 December of each year. However, CNAS data reveals that more than 100 pension beneficiaries did not present the document on time.
The certificate confirms that the pension beneficiary is alive. The document is signed in the presence of the person entitled to the pension by the competent institution of the other contracting party, which confirms that the document was signed and dated personally by the recipient of the pension. In the event of non-submission of the Life Certificate, the transfer of pension shall be suspended from 1 January of the following year.
The obligation applies to pension beneficiaries under the provisions of the bilateral social security agreements signed by Moldova and 12 European countries (Bulgaria, Portugal, Romania, Luxembourg, Estonia, Czech Republic, Austria, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Germany).
At present, CNAS pays around 540 pensions on the basis of bilateral agreements with other states.
The Life Certificate form can be accessed on the official website of CNAS.
