Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/ - The launch of a programme titled, Costesti – Youth Capital 2019, took place in the Costesti village, central Ialoveni district, on 24 March.
"This programme represents a catalyst in the process of rapprochement of the local public administration with young people and allows developing and extending the process of applying new, innovating ideas and projects, in which each young person has a role. We reiterate the commitment of the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) in ensuring conditions for the development and self-assertion of young people here, at home, in Moldova,” a state secretary at MECC, Radu Rebeja, has said.
Following the national selection, the Costesti village this year was nominated Youth Capital, as “it is a settlement with a rich experience in projects’ implementation locally, including in partnership with youth organizations.”
The project, Costesti – Youth Capital 2019, is organized with the financial support of the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, which will earmark over one million lei for the carrying out of more than 30 activities dedicated to young people.
The Youth Capital programme was launched by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry. It represents an initiative taken over from the experience of the European Youth Forum and implies selection of a settlement from Moldova where during one year youth activities of local public authorities, regional and national NGOs, international organizations, as well as of central public authorities are focused. The programme’s task is to create opportunities of multilateral development of young people for their active participation in the economic, social and cultural life of Moldova.
