Thousands of trees to be planted in Moldovan capital on 30 March

Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/ - Thousands of trees will be planted in the Moldovan capital on 30 March. Statements to this effect were made at a weekly meeting of the Chisinau city hall’s services today. The city’s residents willing to participate in the greening action will receive from authorities needed tools and water for planting trees.  

The head of the housing, utility and arrangement general department, Ion Burdiumov, said that, on next Saturday, starting from 10:00, trees would be planted in the Ciocana district of Chisinau, at the intersection of the streets Ion Dumeniuc and N. Milescu-Spataru. Three thousand trees have been prepared for this.  

The acting general mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, said that the organization Plantăm fapte bune (We Plant Good Deeds) would join the greening action, planning to plant 10,000 trees.   

„We will carry out a greening campaign on next Saturday. I invite all residents of the capital. It would be good to invite also the education institutions to take part in the campaign on their grounds. We are ready to provide small trees to kindergartens, so that they plant trees on their territory along with parents. We can help with everything necessary each resident due to appeal; we will either offer him/her a tree or we will help with gloves, spades or cisterns with water,” Ruslan Codreanu added.  

According to the Chisinau city hall, during March and April, the local public administration will organize more activities on the sanitation and arrangement of the city’s territory, in which all residents of the Moldovan capital are invited.
