Programme on getting Moldova's citizenship through investment presented in most developed cities of China

Chisinau, 25 March /MOLDPRES/ - The programme on getting Moldova’s citizenship through investment is promoted by the state secretary of the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry Vitalie Iurcu and the deputy director of the Public Services Agency (ASP), director of the programme on getting the citizenship through investment Iulia Petuhov, in the top cities of China from the economic viewpoint on 22-27 March 2019.   

The visit’s goal is to promote the country’s image, economic opportunities offered by Moldova to potential Chinese investors, as well as to promote the programme on getting the citizenship through investment.

The visit’s agenda started on 22 March in Hong Kong, where a media presentation of Moldova and of the programme to about 50 representatives of top media from Hong Kong took place. On the same day, 100 business people from the Shenzhen city (the third most economically developed city) learned details about this programme, they being potential applicants to the latter.   

The promotion campaign continued in Beijing, where the programme was explained to representatives of three companies in the field of immigration through investment. At the same time, informative seminars were organized in Shanghai (the most developed Chinese city from the economic viewpoint) for representatives of China’s business – potential investors and applicants to the programme.   

The promotion agenda will end with three seminars in Shanghai and Qingdao (top ten from the economic development viewpoint), in which about 100 entrepreneurs are to participate.

According to the Economics Ministry, the participants in the events showed interest in investing in Moldova and described the programme on getting the citizenship as competitive and with high potential. Among the most advantageous elements of the programme, the officials highlighted the value of the Moldovan passport, which provides unique free access to two big markets (European Union and Commonwealth of Independent States), time of data’s processing up to 90 days and opportunities of living and doing business in Moldova.   

The programme approved in 2018 shows that a foreign investor will be able to get Moldova’s citizenship, if he/she allocates at least 100,000 euros to the sustainable development fund or at least 250,000 euros into a strategic activity sector.
