Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRES/ - The self-nomination of Andrei Nastase for the office of parliament speaker and of Maia Sandu for the position of prime minister is at least strange. The leader of the Moldovan Democratic Party (PDM), Vlad Plahotniuc, has made statements to this effect.
„The today’s statement by the ACUM bloc is at least strange. We have invited them more times to discuss the priorities of joint governance, including offer them offices, even more than they want. However, they proposed positions to each other,” Plahotniuc said.
The PDM leader noted that the vote of a parliamentary majority was needed for the appointment to the key state offices, such as the one of prime minister, as well as the one of speaker. “This majority must know what the eventual candidates will do with these offices. It is one thing if they work for the people; yet, if they want to provide themselves only with assistants, guard, salaries, it is something else. We are waiting them to negotiations,” Plahotniuc added.
PDM has earlier made more invitations to the ACUM bloc to dialogue; yet, all of them were turned down.
