Chisinau, 28 March /MOLDPRES/- The Commission for Emergencies will manage the crises in Moldova’s energy market, according to a Regulation that will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 29 March.

Under the document, the government commission is required to determine if there is an exceptional situation within 12 hours from notification, to coordinate the actions due to be taken by electric power companies, especially by transmission system operators

The Regulation sets out measures to ensure proper and continuous functioning of the competitive internal energy market and the implementation of transparent procedures to guarantee the security of electricity supply in case of emergencies.

To ensure security of electricity supply, the government will cooperate with authorities in neighboring countries, in particular to coordinate measures to supply electricity in emergencies.

Also, the government will develop and modernize interconnections to ensure electricity supply capacities.
