Moldovan top court's ruling confirming results of referendum to be published in Official Journal

Chisinau, 28 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Constitutional Court’s (CCM) ruling on confirming the results of the consultative republican referendum from 24 February 2019 will be published in the 29 March issue of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
The top court on 14 March 2019 confirmed the data presented by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), which showed that 1,144,261 persons participated in the plebiscite, which accounts for over 39.78 per cent of the voters registered in the lists. Thus, the rate needed for validation was exceeded.
Data confirmed by CCM shows that 744,529 voted for in case of the question "Are you for reducing the number of MPs from 101 to 61?" Fewer voters, about 1,143,397, expressed their options for the second question, “Are you for the people to be able to dismiss MPs, if they do not properly fulfill their obligations?," of whom 808,206 voted for and 202,497 – against.
