Milk producers from north Moldova district to set up cooperative with support of Czech government

Chisinau, 28 March /MOLDPRES/ - The association of cattle breeders from the northern Rascani district, set up with the support of a project financed by the Czech Republic’s government, has ruled to create and register a cooperative.
The association’s members on 27 March assembled at a meeting, in order to consider procedures of setting up the cooperative for milk production. As a result, an initiative group was created and a foundation agreement was signed.
A project manager in the public association, Pro Cooperare Regională (Pro Regional Cooperation), Vitalie Rusu, highlighted the opportunities of financing groups of producers can access within programmes of grants provided by development partners, as well as a project on subsidization, implemented by the Agency for Interventions and Payments for Agriculture. The participants in the meeting tackled possible risks which may appear in the cooperative’s work, as well as ways of preventing them.
First of all, the group members showed interest in possibility of selling milk jointly. “We hope to find needed support, in order to be able to cope with challenges,” more producers from the Rascani district said.
The association of cattle breeders from the Rascani district was set up through a project titled, An Impetus for Doing Business in the North Development Region of Moldova, financed by the Czech Development Agency – Česká rozvojová agentura, CzechAid. The programme is implemented by the Czech Association People in Need, in partnership with the Pro Regional Cooperation association and the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord). “Thus, we back entrepreneurs in the process of creation of associate business forms in the North Region and we guide small and medium enterprises on how they should increase their incomes and develop business infrastructure by jointly accessing financial sources,” ADR Nord sources said.
