Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will switch to the summer time on 31 March. Thus, the clocks will be set one hour forward on the night of 30 to 31 March at 2 am.
According to the government, the decision was taken in line with the proposal by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. The switch to the summer time will be made concomitantly with the European Union member states.
The Economics and Infrastructure Ministry earlier this week said that, till next April, each European Union member state must inform whether it intends to permanently apply the summer or the winter time. Moldova will adopt the same position as the EU countries.
In 2018, the European Commission organized a public consultation on the subject, within which 84 per cent of the Europeans answered in favour of giving up the seasonal change of the time.
Physicians say that the change of the time can trigger discomfort and anxiety because of the change of the biological rhythm of the organism. According to specialists, people need about one – two weeks, in order to adapt to the change of the time.
