Thousands of trees, bushes planted in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - Thousands of trees and bushes today were planted in various zones of Moldova’s capital, within a campaign of creating green areas.
The acting general mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, participated in the action as well. “We will see the result of our work in years. I thank each of you for involvement. We are a big and united team,” the mayor said.
A representative of the housing and utility department, Vasile Efros, said that 10,000 trees and 5,000 bushes had been planted on a land plot of five hectares on the Uzinelor Street from Chisinau. According to Efros, another 3,000 trees were planted on a ground at the intersection of the streets Nicolae Milescu-Spataru and Ion Dumeniuc from the capital.
The Chisinau city hall informed that the planting project had been carried out by the Institute of Forest Researches and Arrangements and the planting material was provided by the project, Plantăm fapte bune în România (We Plant Good Deeds in Romania). The initiative on greening the territory belongs to the public association Parcurile Viitorului (The Parks of the Future) and is carried out in partnership with the Chisinau city hall.
This is the second event out of the four actions schedule with the participation of the community, within the spring sanitation campaign.
