Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/- Over 200 tons of domestic grapes were sold at the second edition of the Fair held yesterday in the capital.
About 20 farmers present at the fair have sold over 35 tons of apples, 2.5 tons of plums and over 500kg of blackberries.
The initiative came after several farmers have previously announced they have large stocks of grapes and apples in warehouses and are likely to suffer large financial losses. In this context, the producers urged consumers to give fruits instead of flowers.
After the first edition of the fair, Ruslan Codreanu proposed the organization of fairs in all districts of the capital, so that farmers could sell their goods, and the capital’s residents could buy fresh local fruits directly from the producer.
