Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/ - The leadership of Moldova’s Democratic Party (PDM) and Party of Socialists (PSRM) today accepted an invitation by President Igor Dodon to have joint consultations, in order to overcome the post-electoral crisis. At the end of the discussions, the leaders of the parliament’s biggest formations said that there were subjects on which common mind might be identified. Yet, there are also divergences, especially political ones. For this reason, the situation will be analyzed within the parties too.
After the discussions held at the State Residence, PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc said that the goal of the formation he leads was to offer Moldova stable, responsible and efficient governance.
"We will analyze all existing options namely from this point of view. We have heard the position of the Party of Socialists and we found out that, as for the social issues, there are more subjects on which we have similar visions with them; yet, we also have differences of opinions in other areas, especially on the political dimension. We are to analyze what we heard today and see to what extent the discussions can continue and if a constructive dialogue is possible between us,” Plahotniuc said.
PSRM leader Zinaida Greceanii informed that she would discuss with her colleagues, in order to decide if a constructive dialogue might be with the Democrats. “The visions coincide on some positions from the social sector. There are also divergences on other political subjects. We have not discussed candidatures for certain offices. We discussed to have political, social, economic stability,” Grecianii added.
The two PDM and PSRM leaders, as well as the head of state said that they regretted that the members of the ACUM political bloc had not participated in the discussions. Igor Dodon specified that this had been the last meeting held at the president’s initiative.
On 1 April, the ACUM bloc informed that it would not take part in consultations with the current PDM leadership and would not go to the discussions initiated by President Igor Dodon, in order to create a parliamentary majority. Also on 1 April, the ACUM lawmakers made an invitation to dialogue to all lawmakers; yet, they left the discussions room today, immediately after three MPs of the Shor Party had accepted their invitation.
