Moldovan deputy premier meets Russia's representative in five-plus-two format

Chisinau, 02 April /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy PM for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, had a meeting today with the special representative of Russia in the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict, Serghei Gubarev, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.
The officials exchanged detailed views on the developments in the Transnistrian folder, dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, as well as on the topics of interest in the negotiation process.
The official of Russia in the 5+2 format was interested in the issue of driving licences, and the Moldovan side confirmed that changing the Transnistrian driving licences to those of Moldova has denoted a positive trend allowing the drivers to be brought into the legal field knowing exactly who is driving the car while going in traffic. Moreover, the deputy premier stressed that the issues to be discussed at the next meeting in the field of transport are related to motor third party liability insurance and legal compliance in international road traffic.
The officials also approached the tense situation in Varnita, where the decrees of the Tiraspol leader lately create difficulties for the locals.
At the invitation of the chief negotiator on behalf of Chisinau, Cristina Lesnic, the special representative of Russia, Serghei Gubarev, agreed to visit Varnita village and document it on the spot on 03 April.
Another topic approached during the meeting was the incident at the Metalworking plant in Rabnita city and the delay in presenting the relevant info to the Chisinau authorities. The case is a precedent in the field of exceptional situations and needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency, and it should be accepted for signature the draft Protocol on which it worked in 2018.
The deputy PM reminded that following the Ministerial Declaration 2018 in Milan, parties in the 5+2 format agreed to discuss all the subjects in all the sets on agenda, and the subject of the storage of weapons and ammunition in Cobasna is not an exception.
The representatives of the Reintegration Policy Office (BPR) and the MAEIE also attended the meeting.
