Foreign affairs minister highly appreciates Sweden's permanent support for Moldova

Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova and Sweden have signed the acts which show the exchange of Instruments of Ratification of the bilateral agreements on cooperation for development (2018-2020), as well as the general terms and conditions of the cooperation for development, signed in Chisinau on 2 July 2018, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Ambassador of Sweden to Moldova Anna Lyberg signed the documents today.
The cooperation for development based on these two treaties regards Sweden’s contribution to the carrying out national programmes on the progressive economic integration into EU, development of a functional market economy, strengthened democracy, with emphasis put on the observance of human rights and much more developed rule of law state, environmental protection and climate changes.
Minister Tudor Ulianovschi highly appreciated the assistance provided to Moldova by Sweden and pointed out the significance of this support in the process of the democratic, economic and social transformations in Moldova. The Moldovan diplomacy head hailed the efforts made by Swedish partners to promote the gender equality, development of entrepreneurship, consolidation of capacities in the food safety sector, etc. Ulianovschi stressed that “the government appreciates very much Sweden’s permanent assistance for Moldova.”
For her part, Ambassador Anna Lyberg expressed confidence that the Moldovan-Swedish relations would continue developing, turning to good account the cooperation opportunities in sectors of mutual interest. The Swedish diplomat also voiced support of the government of Sweden for Moldova’s European integration and reforms’ implementation.
