Moldovan deputy premier attends interparliamentary conference on EU future

Chisinau, 3 April /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of Moldova Iurie Leanca participated in an interparliamentary conference on the future of the European Union, which was held in Bucharest on 1-2 April during the rotating Presidency of Romania to the European Union Council, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In his speech, Leanca approached the benefits that Moldova obtained as a result of its accession to the EU and the signing of the Association Agreement, emphasizing, in particular, liberalization of visa regime and free trade with the EU space. So far, over 1.5 million Moldovan citizens have benefited from the liberalized visa regime, and the trade with the EU space has increased from 50 to 70%.
At the same time, the Moldovan official declared for a more coherent EU strategy towards Moldova and Eastern Partnership countries to encourage more motivationally the promotion of reforms and to outline a clear European perspective for our country.
