Chisinau, 03 April /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy PM for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, has visited today Varnita village, Anenii Noi district together with the special representative of Russia in the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict, Serghei Gubarev, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.
This working visit was organised following the invitation launched by the Chief Negotiator on behalf of Chisinau, Cristina Lesnic, on occasion of the bilateral meeting on 01 April 2019.
In the dialogue between the two officials, Deputy Prime Minister has repeatedly stressed that Chisinau condemns the unilateral actions of Tiraspol that create difficulties and impediments for the residents in Varnita village, especially with regard to the free movement of persons and goods, application of illegal taxes, but also obligation to request certificates from the so-called administration of Proteagailovca. All these illegalities arose as a result of the so-called "decrees" of the Tiraspol leader of October 2018 and January 2019.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the local public authorities in the Anenii Noi district and the village of Varniţa, as well as the co-chairmen of the Joint Control Commission from the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation, as well as the locals who exposed the problems they face and which require involvement from all the actors in the 1+1 negotiation formats, as well as 5+2.
The proposal to visit village Varnita comes to support the initiative of Chisinau that representatives of the 5+2 negotiation format go to the scene to listen to the opinion of inhabitants, and preceded a similar visit to Dubasari in 2018.
The Government of Moldova comes with a systemic and practical approach for the actors involved in the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.
Serghei Gubarev took note of what the citizens had said and expressed the idea that the evoked problems need to be solved without conditionality.
Finally, the officials agreed to continue the dialogue so that to solve the problems of residents of Varnita.
