Patrol policemen on bicycles resume work in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/ - Patrol policemen on bicycles resumed working today. They will be present in pedestrian, entertainment and leisure zones from the Chisinau municipality.

The head of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Alexandru Pinzari, said that, after the warming of the weather beginning with this week-end, policemen on bicycles were restarting their patrol in parks from the Moldovan capital.

„You will surely meet them starting from 10:00 till 22:00 in the evening “walking” along with you. Do not hesitate to ask them for help if you need or at least to greet them friendly,” the IGP head wrote on a social network.

The patrol service on bicycles was launched two years ago with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Moldova. The cost of the project is of about 73,000 dollars.
