Another street in Moldovan capital to have modern public lighting

Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/- The public lighting installations on Calea Iesilor Street in the capital were upgraded. They were inaugurated yesterday evening.
Attending the event, acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu said that Calea Iesilor Street is the tenth that was modernly lit in 2019. The new LED lamps will allow 50 percent to cut electricity costs. In the last five months, municipal authorities have managed to modernize public lighting on 27 km of road.
“We wanted to ensure maximum comfort and safety for people, because we have received complaints that they are afraid to go out on some streets as there is no light ", Codreanu said.
The interim mayor added that the local administration intends to carry out works in the next period to modernize the public lighting in the block courtyards.
The streets that have modern public lighting are - Muncesti Road, bd. Mircea cel Batran, Alba-Iulia street, Ciuflea Street, Viaduct and Kiev Street. In 2019, 14 million lei were allocated for the modernization of the public lighting.
