Civil Aviation Authority assessed Moldovan air operators

11:34 | 11.04.2019 Category: Social

Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan aircraft operators have been assessed by the Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) in terms of compliance with international safety standards and compliance with our country's commitments to the European Union.

Following the evaluation carried out in November 2018 - March 2019, the ACC found that two Moldovan air companies are in line with international standards and ensure a high level of safety.

At the same time, restrictive measures have been imposed on some air carriers operating outside Moldova (Middle East, Asia and Pacific) by prohibiting the operation of an aircraft and the suspension of the Air Operator Certificate (AOC).

Also, yesterday, the AAC issued a directive banning the operation of flights within the European Union for several airlines that do not hold a Third Country Operator Certificate (TCO) issued by the European Agency for Flight Safety.

AAC has assured that decisions will not affect passenger transport to and from Moldova, but will only ensure a higher level of safety.
