21 early-stage agricultural producers applied for subsidies worth 12 million lei

Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/- A number of 21 producers who started farming businesses have requested state subsidies worth 12 million lei. Applications were submitted by 8 April 2009, when the third stage of receiving the files for the advance payments was completed.
Beneficiaries have planned investments in the agricultural sector of over 18 million lei which will generate the creation of over 70 new jobs. Most grant applications - 62% - were submitted by women. The remaining 38% of businesses are to be administered by young farmers.
The Agency for Intervention and Payment for Agriculture (AIPA) announced that nine investment projects out of the total of the presented ones are aimed at setting up multi-annual plantations. Four other grant applicants will purchase bee families with specialized honey production equipment. At the same time, three files concern investment in greenhouse construction and three other projects provide for investment in post-harvest and processing infrastructure development. Two other farmers are planning to launch livestock businesses.
For 2019 from the National Fund for Development of Agriculture and Rural Development 45 million lei were distributed for granting subsidies in advance to young people and women who start their agricultural business.
