Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/ – The snap elections are possible, but they are not desirable. And definitely not PDM will cause them. The statement was made by the head of the parliamentary PDM faction, Pavel Filip, in an interview with a portal in Chisinau.
According to quoted source, the electoral campaigns are needed to tell what you have done for citizens, learn from them what you can do next and prove that you are trustworthy. "We have already done it. It makes no sense to waste time on the whole process. The PDM has ruled and opposed early elections, as such a scenario is bad for Moldova. The snap elections would only delay the adoption of required and expected social measures, discourage business environment and investment, create uncertainty in all areas," said Filip.
The head of the PDM faction specified that the party he is part of is ready for any variation. "In anticipation, I am sure we shall win even more MPs, because we will tell people very clearly: be with those who want to do something for the country, not with those who want only chaos and instability" added Filip.
He specified that in case of snap elections, voting should take place as citizens of Moldova had voted at consultative referendum of 24 February, i. e. to elect 61 MPs, and not 101 MPs. "The refusal to negotiate and form a coalition shows fear of assuming liabilities and mistrust in their own ability to govern. But it also means something: it also means deceiving the expectations of people. They did their duty and voted, and now it is time for parties to do their job. The parties are called to resolve Moldova's issues, not create other ones, and people penalise such destructive behaviours," said quoted source.
