Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects an economic growth of 3.5 percent for the Republic of Moldova in 2019, above the regional average in the CIS area, of 2.2 percent. "The outlook for the Commonwealth of Independent States is a steady 2.4% growth in the medium term. This largely reflects the slow growth in Russia of around 1.5% in the medium term, which is conditioned by the modest outlook for oil prices and structural barriers," IMF forecast shows.

WB experts point out that, in the context of strengthening the financial and fundamental situation in 2018, economic growth in Moldova remained stable and real GDP grew by 4 percent.

The Institute of International Economic Studies in Vienna announced on March 27 that the economies of Albania, Kosovo and Moldova will have the highest growth among the 23 Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European countries in 2019-2021.
