Moldovan Customs Service reports by more than 208 million lei revenues collected, more facilities for economic operators

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service reports revenues to the state budget worth 4 billion 594 million lei in the first quarter of 2019, up by 208.7 million lei against the same period of the year before, as well as more facilities for economic agents, according to customs data.
The customs revenues, facilitation of international trade and easing of the traffic are just some of the sectors which continue recording a positive dynamic. The data which confirm this tendency was unveiled at a summing-up meeting on the work of the revenues and control department, summoned by the director of the Customs Service, Vitalie Vrabie.
The value of export grew by 516.8 million lei in the first quarter, up to 10.5 billion lei, the Customs Service’s data also shows. Goods worth about 2.2 billion lei were exported by the holders of the status of Approved Exporter, which exonerate them from the compulsoriness to the get the EUR-1 origin certificate, the issuance of which costs 6 euros. At the same time, due to the simplifications promoted by the Customs Service, seasonal exporters can benefit from this status as well.
Director Vitalie Vrabie demanded continuation of the promotion of this instrument, along with AEO (Authorized Economic Agent) and PVD (Customs Clearance at Domicile), so that more and more entrepreneurs benefit from the facilities offered by these certificates. As many as 117 authorized economic agents, 27 Approved Exporters and 77 entrepreneurs having permission to make customs clearance at the domicile are registered at present.
The head of the public relations section at the Customs Service, Cristina Rau, said that the carriers of goods also benefited from simplifications under the coverage of the TIR Card. Due to the TIR-EPD application, launched by the Customs on 18 March 2019, they can submit preliminary transit electronic declarations, which significantly shortens their waiting time in customs. The new application was provided by the International Association of Motor Carriers (AITA) and is implemented with the support of the Structural Reforms in Moldova programme of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
With the support of USAID Programme, the institution plans also to implement a system of scheduling the crossing of the border by trucks, as well as the launch of the Trade Informational Portal – an interactive platform due to contain all needed information for an economic agent involved in foreign commerce. The development of information systems will be sped up also by the implementation of the new version of the application software Asycuda World, which will allow the integration of series of modules, among which NCTS (New Computerized Transit System) and Single Window.
