Number of applicants for subsidies in agriculture up by 10 per cent in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ – Since 01 February, the Agency for Intervention and Payment for Agriculture (AIPA) has received 566 applications for subsidies worth over MDL 92 million. The number of applications filed increased by 10 per cent over similar period of 2018.
Following the examination of the files, the AIPA has authorised for payment so far MDL 17.6 million subsidies for 202 applications.
Over half of submitted files aim at stimulating investments in procurement of agricultural machinery and equipment, amount of subsidies needed on it being MDL 31.8 million. Additional amount of MDL 16.4 million was requested by agricultural producers to set up multi – annual plantations. Also, the agricultural producers requested state support for the development of the post-harvest and processing infrastructure, submitting 43 requests consisting MDL 30.8 million.
Most cases were filed by agricultural producers in Cahul, followed by those in Edinet and Orhei. On the other hand, the fewest requests were received in Chisinau, Ungheni and Dubasari.
The National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development (FNDAMR) represents MDL 900 million in 2019. The deadline for receipt of grant applications is 31 October 2019.
