Chisinau, 16 April /MOLDPRES/ – In Moldova, it could be implemented the service that allows the vehicles involved in serious road accidents to call automatically the 112 emergency number. The subject was discussed today at the meeting of the interdepartmental coordinating committee to ensure the interaction between the Single National Service for 112 calls and the Specialised urgent Services.
The ECall system is already installed in vehicles from all the European Union countries.
The Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, has stated at the meeting that Moldova needs to develop and equip the 112 Service with complex technologies and systems, because it allows for more efficiency and mobility of teams.
It was also discussed the provision of emergency mobile emergency services to mobile terminals at the meeting. The purpose of these terminals is to facilitate communication between dispatching emergency services and intervention teams by direct transmission of emergency case to intervention teams. The action will permit reduction of crew alert time and eliminate the human factor in transmitting data.
The 112 National Emergency Service started in Moldova one year ago.
