Chisinau, 16 April /MOLDPRES/ – The employees of the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP) and the National Automobile Transport Agency (ANTA) will carry out patrol and check acts in the Bus station and Central market area in Chisinau municipality to sanction illicit carriers and unlawful drivers. The checks start on 17 April 2019.
Also, during the Easter holidays, when passenger traffic is much higher than on ordinary days, a special working group will be set up consisting of INP, State Tax Service and ANTA that will monitor and strive to reduce transport in the vicinity of the Central Bus Station.
The decisions were taken today following a meeting attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI), ANTA, INP, State Tax Service (SFS) and Chisinau City Hall (PMC).
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Serghei Bucataru, proposed at the meeting to establish a mobile station of ANTA and INP in the area of the Central bus station to combat both the presence of illicit taxi drivers and illegally parked units. "Even if the road signs indicate that parking in the area is forbidden, the drivers ignore them and continue to park in an arbitrary manner," said Bucataru.
In this context, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) urged travellers to opt for the services of transport companies providing services respecting the legal framework.
