Raw materials for programme Good roads 2 for Moldova to be transported by railroads

Chisinau, 17 April /MOLDPRES/ – The economic agents, transporting raw materials necessary for rehabilitation of roads included in project: Good roads 2 for Moldova, might benefit from preferential tariffs. Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici has discussed it with representatives of the Calea Ferata din Moldova (CFM) (Moldovan railroads).
Chiril Gaburici has said that by transporting the raw material by railroad, the traffic of heavy goods vehicles on national roads will be reduced, thus preventing asphalt deterioration on roads. Also, CFM will increase its revenues. At the same time, the minister said that the responsible should ensure that they have enough wagons to transport the raw materials for rehabilitation of 2,600 km of road in 2019.
The CFM Commercial Director, Grigore Condurache, said that in 2018, there were used 700 wagons to transport construction materials, including 270,000 tonnes of granite, 20,000 tonnes of white gravel and 6,000 tonnes of bitumen. Similarly, the number of available wagons has increased in 2019, reaching the figure of 1,000.
In 2018, for transportation of goods on the territory of Moldova, the economic agents benefited from tariffs starting with 03 cents/km. The fee varied according to the type of construction materials, quantity and type of wagon.
