Moldova might become rich throughout education, says PM at Class of Future's inauguration

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ – The students of Moldova will benefit from interactive and innovative lessons. They will be able to develop their digital skills, critical thinking and creativity. This is possible with inauguration of the National Centre for Digital Innovations in Education: Clasa Viitorului (Class of Future). Here, it will be trained over 1,000 teachers in the use of digital technologies in educational process yearly. Present at the opening of the Centre, Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, has mentioned that in informational age, the students can no longer learn on the basis of old methods, and in perspectives, 90 per cent of the jobs will require digital skills that can be acquired in the Class of Future, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
"It is our duty to offer the necessary conditions to produce generations capable of creating, reinventing and showing creativity. The tools offered by the field of IT are of course very good and we can not use them today in the educational process," said Pavel Filip. It was also emphasised upon the need to change the curriculum and reengineering of the educational process.
Pavel Filip has specified that Moldova can become a rich country throughout education. "I want educational institutions to produce brains. Subsequently, the products that are exported from Moldova will be based on raw materials such as: ingenuity, creativity and inventiveness," said PM.
Also, Pavel Filip has mentioned that the Government has made efforts to develop the IT domain. Regarding it, there have been developed and approved policies to ensure further infrastructure and access, digital content and e – services, and policies that would ensure the development of skills and use. At present, Moldova is among the states with the fastest and cheapest internet access, ranking 3rd in the world.
The National Centre for Digital Innovation in Education: Class of Future is located within the Pedagogical State University Ion Creanga and is equipped with digital educational equipment. The value of investments exceeds MDL 12 million, money allocated by external partners and budget.
The Class of Future pilot project was launched in 2017 in 11 general education institutions. It has over 2,200 students and 110 teachers.
