Holy Fire from Jerusalem to be brought to Moldova in 2019 as well

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Holy Fire from Jerusalem will be brought to Moldova for the 17th time in a row this year as well. A delegation of the Metropolitan See of Moldova, led by Metropolitan Vladimir, on 26 April will go to the Holy Land, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where they will take the Holy Fire.   

According to the Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova, the official delegation will land on the Chisinau International Airport on 27 April evening. The Holy Fire will be brought from the Airport to the Birth of God Metropolitan Cathedral from Chisinau. The Fire will be distributed to hierarchs, priests and believers, who will spread it all over Moldova.

During the visit, Metropolitan Vladimir will have a meeting with His Beatitude Theophilos III, Patriarch of Jerusalem. On the Great Saturday, the Patriarch of Jerusalem will officiate the Vespers, during which the Holy Fire is coming down and lighted.    

For centuries, the Holy Light has been considered a miracle of the Orthodoxy. After Christ the Saviour had been buried, a strong light broke the stone and since then, the Holy Fire has been lighting at the Sepulchre of Christ each time at the Vespers from the Great Saturday.
