Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - The elections to the European Parliament, due on 26 May, will not be different from the earlier polls, as the structure of forces will change in the European Parliament; yet, the traditional parties enjoy enough support in continuation and will ensure consistency in EU’s actions. The executive director of the Institute for European Policies and Reforms, Iulian Groza, has made statements to this effect in an interview given exclusively with the MOLDPRES State News Agency.
According to Groza, the latest opinion polls show that more extreme left- and right-wing parties with populist connotations will be elected to the European Parliament. Nevertheless, the traditionalist parties further enjoy support in more countries.
„On the whole, the future European Parliament will not have a quite different formula and the traditionalist parties will manage to set up the future structures and ensure consistency,” Iulian Groza noted.
The biggest challenge for the parties of the European legislative body will represent the discussions on EU’s future following the Brexit.
