Moldovan parliament speaker participates in ceremony dedicated to 25th anniversary of Constitution's adoption

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today participated, along with Moldovans president and the prime minister, in the official ceremony on the 25th anniversary of the Constitution’s adoption, the parliament’s communication and public relations general department has reported.
In her speech, Zinaida Greceanii showed confident that, after the tough years when the constitutional norms had been replaced by clan interests, the democratization process would triumph and the state would align with the international standards in terms of the guaranteeing the fundamental rights and freedoms.
The speaker showed firmly confident that a Constitutional Court would be created in the near future, which will guard the Fundamental Law and would bring again the constitutional jurisdiction to normal.
Zinaida Greceanii called on each citizen to fight for the observance of the constitutional norms whenever needed. “Our force lies in our unity and our unity is laid down and guaranteed in the text of Moldova’s Constitution,” the parliament speaker said.
MPs from the first Moldovan parliament, lawmakers of the tenth legislative period, former heads of state, Constitutional Court judges and government officials attended the ceremony on the 25th anniversary of the Constitution’s adoption. The Republic of Moldova’s Constitution was adopted with the votes of 83 MPs on 29 July 1994.
