Chisinau, 12 August /MOLDPRES/- The parliamentary faction of the Shor Party announced today that it has registered a draft law on lifting parliamentary immunity.
MP Marina Tauber said that the project is a response "to many speculations on the party".
"This project is a confirmation that the MPs of the Shor Party are not afraid of investigation, are not guilty and have no reason to hide behind immunity. We came to parliament to change people's lives for the better, but not to hide from different privileges. We hope that this position will be supported by absolutely all members of parliament, "Tauber said.
To withdraw the immunity of MPs, it is necessary to amend the Constitution (Article 70), as well as a number of legislative acts.
Several MPs from the faction, as well as the leader of the Shor Party, Ilan Shor, are related to the Kroll report on the theft of the billion. Shor was sentenced to seven years and six months of imprisonment with execution in a semi-closed penitentiary, for money laundering and fraud in very large proportions in the files of bad loans granted in 2014 by the Savings Bank. Now he is in international search.
