Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ – The admission period in technical vocational education institutions might be extended. The proposal was announced by directors of these institutions, at a meeting organised on Thursday, 22 August, by the Parliamentary commission of culture, education, research, youth, sports and media.
Thus, the meeting participants have proposed that pupils may be enrolled in studies after 01 September, and it is proposed that the deadline for it to be 01 October, when the institutions present the final reports on admission. The officials will examine the proposal and analise the possibilities for its implementation.
Also, the directors of educational institutions proposed to increase the number of places with budgetary financing in vocational schools and colleges. On the other hand, it was emphasised upon the issue that the young persons doing their studies on the budget do not sign any contract that would oblige them after finishing studies to work in the field for a certain period of time according to specialty.
In this regard, the head of commission, Adrian Lebedinschi, has specified that there is a need to change the legislation on it. "As for the children whose studies are financed from the budget, this year probably we shall have some important reforms, because each of these children must have a signed contract and the pupil must honour his obligation to the state, because the state is the one which assumes the expenses of studies. In practice, it has been proved that, for instance, the higher education institutions did not sign any contracts with students, and the state spent huge amounts of money and later the students did not get involved in the activities they were going to do, but they left to work in other areas or even abroad,” said Lebedinschi.
The meeting also discussed the salaries of teachers, creation of study conditions for young persons with special needs and importance of preparing the staff for specialties that are the most requested on labour market.
