Sixth issue of Carpet Festival takes place in southern district of Moldova

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ – A carpet woven in 1915 by a housewife from Ceadar – Lunga was nominated with Ist prize at a Regional carpet festival (FRC), recently held in Gaidar village in Gagauzia.
At this issue of the festival, there were presented more than a hundred carpets, brought from localities of autonomy, districts from the south of Moldova, Transnistrian region, as well as from Gagauzian villages from regions of Ukraine.
At the contest, there were exhibited rugs dating from 1900s, 1911, 1913, 1915, 30s and 50s. There were a large number of carpets from 60s – 80s of XXth century.
"When evaluating the carpets, there were taken into account chromatic, manufacturing technique, and quality. An important factor was the preservation of carpets, which also require a lot of skill and gumption”, explained sources from administration of Ceadar – Lunga district.
The carpets were evaluated in 02 nominations – old and modern carpets. Thus, this year, with the first place was designated carpet Trandafirii (1915), which belongs to Olimpia Scegoriova from Ceadar – Lunga, as well as carpet Tabla (1974), which belongs to the Museum of tissue art in village Gaidar.
The FRC has reached its 6th issue in 2019.
