Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/ – Starting 23 August 2019, the consumers will pay more for electricity. The resolutions of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), which provide for the increase of tariffs, have entered into force on Friday, 23 August, once published in the Official Journal (MO).

Thus, the tariff paid by population in the north of Moldova has been increased by 16.7 per cent. As a result, the consumers will pay MDL 2.23 for 01 kWh, about MDL 0.32 more than the existing price. Also, the domestic consumers in the centre and south of Moldova will pay MDL 1.89 for 01 kWh, by MDL 0.10 more than at present, or over 5.5 per cent.

The decisions were approved by ANRE a week ago, following the examination of some requests on behalf of the energy supply companies.

The recent adjustment of tariffs for electricity was made on 15 June 2018, when these ones were reduced on average by 10 per cent.
