Monument of heroes liberators of capital inaugurated in Chisinau

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/ – Speaker of Parliament, Zinaida Greceanii, along with President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, have attended, on Saturday, 24 August, the inauguration ceremony of the Monument of heroes liberators of Chisinau, in front of the headquarters of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM), the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The monument was renovated at the initiative of the President of Moldova. The ceremony was attended by deputy head of the Federation Council, Galina Karelova, MPs, representatives of local public administration, academia and veterans.

The monument of Liberation was installed in 1969, on occasion of 25th anniversary of liberation of Moldova from fascist occupation, being renovated only in 1975.

Today, it is celebrated 75th anniversary of liberation of Moldova from fascist occupation in Moldova.
