Independence Day to be marked by series of events in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ – The 28th anniversary of proclamation of the Independence of Moldova will be marked in Chisinau municipality and in localities of Moldova by a series events.
Thus, on Tuesday, 27 August, the events will begin with laying flowers at the monument of ruler Stefan cel Mare si Sfant in the centre of capital. Later, on the Grand National Assembly Square (PMAN), it will be organised festive events dedicated to Independence Day. Also, in the Cathedral square of Chisinau, it will be held a fair of folk craftsmen with generic: Tezaur (Thesaurus).
On Tuesday evening, starting at 17:00, the Government will hold discussions with citizens, in the green space in front of the Government building, entitled: The Cabinet of Ministers, talking to citizens.
The events will culminate in the evening with a concert in PMAN. On stage, there will perform: Catalin Josan, Mani, Cristina Scarlat, Via Si, Cristofor Aldea – Teodorovici, Ion Paladi, Surorile Osoianu, Ioana Capraru, Lidia Bejenaru, Lilia Rosca, Nicolae Ciubotaru, Tatiana Jacota, Pasha Parfeni, La Play Voices, Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, National Academic Ensemble of folk dances Joc, National Orchestra of folk music Lăutarii, conducted by Nicolae Botgros, Maria Iliut and Ensemble Crenguta de Iedera.
According to programme of events, it will be organised a reception by Presidency, on occasion of 28th anniversary of independence proclamation.
In the context of events dedicated to Independence Day, the Chisinau City Hall has announced that road traffic on boulevard Stefan cel Mare si Sfant, the section between streets Mitropolit G. Banulescu – Bodoni and A. Puskin will be suspended until Wednesday morning, 28 August.
The Declaration of Independence of Moldova was adopted by Parliament on 27 August 1991.
