Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/- The Metropolitan Church of Chisinau asked relevant authorities to set the Triumph Arch in the center of the capital in the list of state-protected monuments, so that later it could assume responsibility for managing the monument and identifying the necessary means to restore it.
The request was made following the dissemination of a report on the poor condition of the Triumph Arch, given that it is not yet clear which authority is responsible to maintain the monument.
According to a press release, over two decades, the Orthodox Church of Moldova has restored 718 church buildings - state monuments.
The Arch of Triumph in Chisinau is an architectural monument built in 1840- 1841. Inside it is a giant bell weighing 6.4 tons.
