Moldovans, Ukrainians likely to benefit from small border traffic permits

Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/- Citizens of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine from the surrounding areas of common border could benefit from small border traffic permits. Representatives of the customs authorities of the two states discussed on the issue in Odessa.
The draft Agreement on the small border traffic between the two states stipulates that Moldovans and Ukrainians from the surrounding areas of the common border will be able to cross the border more easily, only on the basis of the small traffic permit and can stay in other state for a period not more than three months of uninterrupted stay, especially for social, cultural, family or economic reasons.
In this context, the authorities of the two states agreed on starting a detailed analysis of all aspects, challenges and possible risks, in order to ensure a good implementation of the project.
Another common initiative for the modernization of the infrastructure is the reconstruction of the common crossings of the state border Cuciurgan-Pervomaisc and Giurgiulești Reni, which will allow the participants in the cross-border traffic to benefit from an operational control and to high standards.
The representatives of the customs authorities decided to organize a meeting of the working group in the near future, in order to continue planning the actions to be taken in the Moldovan-Ukrainian cooperation.
