Until early September, yellow codes of heat, drought, fire danger valid in Moldova

Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/ – The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has extended the Yellow Code (CG) of hydrological drought until 06 September. Also, the condition of CG heat remains in force until 01 September, and until 04 September – an exceptional bonfire danger.
The hydrologists report drought in the rivers and lakes of Moldova due to the lack of precipitation and high temperatures. Also, the economic agents and population are required to consume the water resources rationally.
Until 01 September, it is valid CG of heat throughout Moldova. According to meteorologists, in the reference period, on extended areas, the maximum air temperature up to 33ºC. Also, until 04 September, it has been announced CG of bonfire danger. Thus, in this period, due to the lack of precipitation and high temperatures, it is forecast an exceptional danger of fire (class V) with natural character and threat of fire of forest strips and agricultural crops on a large part of Moldova.
In the context of heat and drought established in Moldova, the General Inspectorate of Emergency Situations (IGSU) has reiterated the attention on the observance of fire regulations. The firefighters have asked citizens not to light the dry vegetation and household waste, to avoid ignition of wrinkles and stems, and in case of fires, even insignificant ones, call 112.

In case of CG, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous, the forecast meteorological phenomena are common for Moldova, but they may become temporarily dangerous for certain socio – economic activities.
