Community foundation announces new grant programme in municipality of western Moldova

Chisinau, 29 August /MOLDPRES/ – The Ungheni community foundation (FCU) has announced the launch of the  Small Grants Program – 2019 Active Citizens for Sustainable Communities. The applications for funding are to be submitted on 09 – 11 September.

The purpose of the action is to promote and strengthen partnerships between Local Initiative Groups (GIL), non – governmental organisations (NGOs), citizens and local public authorities (APL), on addressing and solving environmental problems, healthy way of life, rest and leisure.

The programme is funded by FCU, with the support of the City Hall, Municipal Council and the Ungheni District Council. Depending on conditions, the grants can be worth up to MDL 10,000 and must have a contribution of at least 1/4 of the amount requested from FCU. The NGOs and Civic Initiative Groups that have already implemented important projects for community, with financial support from internal or external donors, can submit grant application forms up to MDL 30,000 and must have a contribution of at least 35 per cent of the amount requested from FCU.

The submitted projects must aim at realistic goals, aim at participatory solution of the issues in community and should not last longer than 2.5 months. The projects that involve profit–generating activities, constructions/reconstructions/extensive spatial planning, religious and political activities are not eligible for funding.
